2012 Berks HOG Road Warrior Program
Berks HOG’s Road Warrior Program is now in its 14th year. Each year the program continues to sees a great number of participants from the Berks HOG membership.
The starting mileage for the 2012 Road Warrior program will be officially recorded at the Polar Bear kickoff event, your VIN number and odometer will read and recorded. If you miss the Polar Bear kick off, or you have more than one motorcycle to register, contact Dale Sheafer by email, AsstDirector@hog.classicharley.com to have your odometer read. Harry Knerr in the parts department at Classic Harley-Davidson can also take your starting mileage, or any HOG officer (Log in and refer to the “Officers” tab for contact information). Ending Road Warrior mileage will need to be turned in at the kickoff event for the 2013 Polar Bear Program. The date and location for that event will be announced later this year. If your unable to attend the 2013 Polar Bear kickoff, your ending mileage must be turned in before that date. Contact Dale Sheafer, Harry Knerr or one of the Berks HOG Officers prior to the 2013 Polar Bear kickoff date to have your ending mileage read and officially recorded. An alternate method of electronic verification of your bike’s mileage has been approved if extraneous circumstances makes it impractical for you to obtain a personal mileage verification, please refer to the Road Warrior Rules shown below for the procedure.

Benefits of Road Warrior riding:
- All Qualifying Road Warriors receive the Road Warrior patch pictured on the “Programs” tab.
- Multiple year participants receive a rocker to show their achievement.
- Prizes will be awarded to the top three highest mileage competitors.
- Patches will be awarded to riders and passengers who successfully complete the program requirements.
Qualifying for the Road Warrior Patch:
- Riders and passengers will need to have their odometer’s mileage officially recorded and successfully complete 10,000 miles ridden within the one year time frame listed above.
1. Only Harley Davidson and Buell motorcycles and trikes are allowed to register for the Road Warrior program.
2. Rider must accumulate a minimum of 10,000 miles in a one year period in order to qualify for the program. The VIN and odometer miles are required to begin receiving mileage credit toward the program.
3. It is the responsibility of the rider to turn in the mileage on the bike(s) and or trike(s) if the motorcycle or trike is sold or traded; also, if the odometer is replaced, the old mileage and the new mileage must be recorded.
4. If you rent a motorcycle or trike, the VIN, mileage rode and bike or trike must be documented by the rental company in order for the miles to be counted toward the Road Warrior program. If you borrow a Harley Davidson or Buell from another person i.e., a friend or relative; a current Chapter officer or the Parts or Service Manager of the Sponsoring Dealership, Classic Harley Davidson, Must verify the beginning and ending mileage for the duration of the time you are claiming.
5. If a new motorcycle or trike is purchased in the program year, the rider must register the VIN and miles.
6. Passenger miles will be based on miles accumulated by the rider, with only one passenger per rider.
7. Each motorcycle or trike must be registered if more than one is owned; all miles will be accumulated toward the program.
8. The decision on miles and the program award will be at the discretion of the person running the program and the decision will be final.
9. The program can be ended at any time without notice.
10. The starting and ending dates will be determined by the person running the program.
11. Beginning and ending mileage may be recorded by any current Chapter Officer. Beginning and ending mileage may also be recorded by the Parts Manager or Service Manager of the Sponsoring Dealership, Classic Harley Davidson.
12. Beginning mileage may be recorded at any time during the Road Warrior year. Ending mileage MUST be recorded on or prior to the date set by the person running the program (historically the second Sunday in November.)
13. Beginning and ending mileage may also be sent electronically to the person running the program. This may be done by taking digital photograph of the mileage shown on the motorcycle odometer, together with a separate photo showing the last five digits of the motorcycle’s VIN. Both photos must be electronically date stamped. Ending mileage must be date stamped on or before the last day of the Road Warrior program. Photos must then be emailed to the person running the Road Warrior program within three (3) calendar days of the end of the program. Motorcycle owner must certify that the photos are true and correct images of the motorcycle’s odometer and VIN.
14. Mileage award gifts, if any, will be drawn from the Chapter members earning a Road Warrior badge or rocker for riding 10,000 miles or more during the Road Warrior year.
